Urvashi Rautela’s wild Cannes accessory wasn’t a clutch, but an espresso martini, proving cocktails can be couture

If there’s one celebrity who truly understands the assignment for dramatic couture at Cannes, it’s surely Urvashi Rautela. The actress recently turned heads at the Film Festival, letting her accessory twist do all the talking.

She delivered a fashion moment so extra and with an unapologetically camp that the internet is simply not able to look away.While most of the celebrities were fighting for life on the red carpet with their tight corsets and long trains, Urvashi carved out her own unique niche and instantly became viral. At the amfAR Gala Cannes, she delivered sass in a heavily embellished, off-shoulder silver gown, designed by Joli Poli Couture.

Drenched in intricate beadwork and stone embroidery with a sheer skirt, she styled the ensemble with a retro feather boa, which subtly rested on her elbows, and exuded major old-Hollywood energy. Urvashi pulled her hair back into a sleek, side-parted bun and added shimmery eyeshadow with a bold winged eyeliner, which was on the beauty front. But the dress was just not enough for her, so she was holding an espresso martini glass, which looked absolutely gorgeous but was actually a purse.

Created by the luxury label Judith Leiber, the ‘Martini Espresso’ clutch is covered entirely in deep, mocha-toned crystals and features a faux crystal ‘froth’ around the rim.

Topping it off with three sparkles, placed like espresso beans, one can open it up and find a metallic leather lining with a small functional mirror. The price of this hyper-realistic caffeine container is around USD 5,795, i.e., roughly around Rs 5.5 lakh. Urvashi is known for having an inclination for Judith Leiber’s surrealist designs and has several stunning clutches from her dramatic collection. Love it or hate it, Urvashi once again proved that subtlety has never been part of her red carpet vocabulary, and she surely knows how to own every bit of it.
