Indian Yuki Bhambri and partner Michael Venus were ousted by the British pairing of Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski in the semifinal of the US Open on Friday.

The British duo rallied from a set down to close out the tie 6(2)-7, 7- 6(5), 6-4 to move into the final of the Grand Slam event at Flushing Meadows.

The opening set of the fixture gave a glimpse of the course of the tie as both teams remained inseparable at 3-3 before the Indo-Kiwi duo inched to the lead, before being pulled back by the Brits, who took their opponents all the way to a tie-breaker.

However, the British challenge in the tie-breaker of the first set fell flat as Bhambri and Venus raced to the seven-point-mark with their opponents struggling a mee two points.

Bhambri and Venus raced to a quick start in the second set as they broke early to zoom ahead, only to be pegged back by the Brits, who broke back just in time to force yet another tie-breaker. But, this time, the result of the race to the 7-point would swing in favour of Salisbury and Skupski.
