Pawan Kalyan's 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' is set for a March 26 release, with reports indicating a shift in its OTT platform. Netflix has reportedly secured the streaming rights for a substantial sum, replacing Prime Video. The film faces a potential box office clash with 'Dhurandhar 2' and 'Toxic', though director Harish Shankar views such releases as a celebration of cinema.

Pawan Kalyan, after his powerful return to the silver screen with ‘They Call Him OG’ will soon be seen in the upcoming cop action drama ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’. Fans have been awaiting its theatrical release, as it is set to arrive on March 26.

Latest reports suggest that there’s a slight change in its OTT release, as the makers switch the streaming platform for a better deal.

Change in OTT plans

According to a report by 123Telugu, Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ directed by Harish Shankar, after its theatrical run, it was acquired by streaming platform Prime Video. However, it seems that the maker now sold the rights for a high price to another streaming giant in the OTT world.

Netflix has reportedly now acquired the streaming rights for over a whopping Rs 80 crore. It is imperative to mention that no official announcement about the change in streaming plans has been made yet.

Clash with ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and ‘Toxic’

‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ releases around a time when Indian cinema will see one of the biggest clashes it has ever encountered. Two of the highly awaited projects, ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ starring Ranveer Singh and Yash’s ‘Toxic’ will be released on March 19, 2026.

This year, multiple films were set to be released around the same month, but later changed their release dates. It will be interesting to watch how the Pawan Kalyan starrer will perform.

Director Harish Shankar speaking about the clash

Recently, while speaking with Variety India, director Harish Shankar called the clash not competition but a celebration of cinema. He said, “Even during the festive weekend of Pongal, when multiple films are released, I don't see one film to another film as a competitive thing because I think it's a celebration of cinema, not a competition of cinema.” “Our audience base is completely different from ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and ‘Toxic’,” he added.Speaking about the film, it features Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna as the female leads and includes Parthiban, Ashutosh Rana, Gautami, Naga Mahesh, Temper Vamsi, and others.
