Uttar Pradesh wager dies as under-construction kiln collapses in Garhwa

Garhwa: A labourer from Uttar Pradesh working in a brick kiln died when an under-construction brick kiln furnace collapsed at Kamarma village under the Meral police station limits in Garhwa district on Tuesday, police said.The deceased was identified as Pappu Singh (35). Four other construction workers — Manvir (22), Chaman (22), Sangram Singh (35), and Pushpendra Kumar (32) — were injured. Natives of Sambhal district in Uttar Pradesh, they were engaged in the construction work for the past one month, police added.Garhwa SDM Sanjay Kumar directed the doctors to properly attend to the injured labourers.Meral block pramukh Deepmala met the injured labourers at the sadar hospital. An injured labourer said, “The durability and safety of the furnace was not duly checked.”
