Vaiko expels Mallai Sathya from MDMK

The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) on Monday (September 8, 2025) expelled deputy general secretary Mallai Sathya from all party posts, including primary membership, for violating party discipline and bringing disrepute to the organisation.

A press release from the party’s general secretary, Vaiko, stated that Mr. Sathya was served a show-cause notice on August 17, 2025 and he replied on August 19, 2025. “The reply was reviewed by the party’s disciplinary committee. You have neither denied the allegations nor responded to them. Your response to the show-cause notice is not acceptable. The disciplinary committee has confirmed that you were involved in anti-party activities,” Mr. Vaiko said in a statement to Mr. Sathya.

The party had already suspended Mr. Sathya, and he has now been removed from the organisation. Mr. Sathya had differences with Mr. Vaiko’s son Durai Vaiko.
