Ranchi: The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has constituted a 72-member state-level monitoring team to evaluate schools shortlisted for the Mukhyamantri Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (MSVP) and the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR).Led by 24 senior officials, the teams would complete on-site verification of schools by December 15.The initiative is part of the state’s efforts to ensure transparent, fair, and comprehensive assessment of schools demonstrating excellence in sanitation, hygiene, environmental responsibility, and safety.State project director at JEPC, Shashi Ranjan, said, “The MSVP aims to recognise schools that perform well in areas such as toilet usability, access to clean drinking water, handwashing facilities, behavioural change related to cleanliness, menstrual hygiene management, school safety, infrastructure, water conservation, eco-club activities, and climate responsiveness.”The district-level selection committees have shortlisted 11 schools per district for the MSVP and eight schools per district for the SHVR programme. A total of 124 schools have been nominated for MSVP and 183 for SHVR across the state.A JEPC official said, “The newly formed monitoring teams will validate these nominations through field inspections, document verification, and grading based on set parameters.”
JEPC has directed officials, staff, and faculty members assigned to the 24 districts to upload final ratings for each school on the programme portals.The teams would also review the status of habitation mapping, which all teachers were instructed to complete on the DAHAR 2.0 portal by December 6. Officials would submit a detailed report to the state office.
