Superstar Rajinikanth delighted fans on New Year's Day 2026 by sharing a nostalgic clip from his film 'Muthu'. The iconic actor's classic dialogue about faith resonated with audiences, sparking a wave of warm wishes. Following the massive success of 'Coolie' in 2025, Rajinikanth is now gearing up for the highly anticipated 'Jailer 2', slated for a mid-2026 release.

Superstar Rajinikanth gave a surprise to his fans on the first day of 2026. The veteran star shared a short clip from his movie ‘Muthu’ to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Fans reacted to the post and shared their wishes as well.

The ‘Coolie’ Star took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he shared an 18-year-old clip showing Rajinkanth riding a chariot with Meena sitting beside him. As they ride, Meena asks him if he is going in the right direction. Rajinikanth answers in his classic style, “Who knows? I have never been the person to worry about my path. I just dump my burden on God, chant Shiva’s name and follow the path that he shows.” The clip also plays AR Rahman’s famous music ‘Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalali’, which brings back sweet memories from the film.

In the video, Rajinikanth added a message which read, “Wishing you all a very happy New Year 2026. God bless.”

The movie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, included some of the biggest stars featuring Nagarjuna, Upendra Rao, Soubin Shahir, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan, Pooja Hegde and others. It went on to make Rs 518 crore worldwide as per Sacnilk.Additionally, he is working on his next film, directed, Nelson Dilipkumar, on the much anticipated sequel, ‘Jailer 2’ which is expected to release mid-2026.
