Vettucaud church fete: half-day holiday in Thiruvananthapuram, Neyyattinkara taluks on Friday

The District Collector has declared a local holiday for government offices and educational institutions in Thiruvananthapuram and Neyyattinkara taluks on Friday afternoon in connection with the feast of Christ the King at Madre de Deus, Vettucaud.

The holiday will also be applicable to government offices and educational institutions in the limits of Amboori, Vazhichal, Kallikad, Ottasekharamangalam, Keezharoor, Kulathummal, Maranalloor, Malayinkeezhu, Vilavoorkal, and Vilappil villages that were earlier in the Neyyattinkara taluk but are now part of Kattakada taluk. There will be no change in public examinations scheduled earlier.

However, the holiday will not be applicable to institutions connected with the local body elections, the State Election Commission said. All local self-government institutions in Thiruvananthapuram and Neyyattinkara taluks and in Amboori, Vazhichal, Kallikad, Ottasekharamangalam, Keezharoor, Kulathummal, Maranalloor, Malayinkeezhu, Vilavoorkal, and Vilappil villages; all government institutions functioning in connection with the local body elections; and the office of the State Election Commission will remain open on Friday afternoon.
