The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday (June 24, 2026) demanded the arrest of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, alleging a conspiracy to forge reports related to a controversial video purportedly involving him.

At a press conference, BJP leader and Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa referred to the arrest of two people by the Gurugram police, who are accused of conspiring to prepare forged forensic and cyber-analysis reports about the video. The Akal Takht, the highest Sikh temporal seat, had earlier called the video “anti-Guru”.

Mr. Sirsa alleged that some Punjab police officials were roped in and that ₹10 lakh was paid to produce the forged reports, which he said gave a “clean chit” to Mr. Mann. He also questioned the “silence” of Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on the matter.

Demanding that the Punjab police register a case and arrest Mr. Mann, Mr. Sirsa accused the Chief Minister of insulting Sikhs and the Akal Takht.

Mr. Mann, on June 16, denied that he was the person in the video and dismissed the clip as “fake”. He called it “a malicious and politically motivated conspiracy” allegedly orchestrated by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal to defame him and derail his government’s pro-people agenda.
