Bihar assembly polls: EC to deploy 8.5 lakh staff, new tech

The Election Commission is rolling out extensive measures for the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly general election, termed the "mother of all elections". For the first time, each of the 243 assemblies will have a dedicated general observer, an IAS officer from outside the state, to function as the "eyes and ears of the Election Commission".
