Vigilance raids Regional Fire Office

Vigilance officers raided the Regional Fire Office here on Friday and seized unaccounted cash amounting to ₹13,590.

The raids followed complaints against the Regional Fire Officer for allegedly taking bribes for issuing fire clearance certificates for buildings.

There were allegations that Regional Fire Officer K.K. Shiju was demanding bribes through middlemen for giving fire clearance. He is in charge of Palakkad, Thrissur and Malappuram districts.
