Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay has called for the party’s general council meeting to be held on November 5 in Mahabalipuram.
The meeting will discuss key resolutions, upcoming activities, future strategies of the party, including a possible organisational restructuring, according to sources.
The move comes a month after a stampede in Karur during Vijay’s rally, which claimed 41 lives and left several people injured. Following the tragedy, the party observed a period of silence, with limited public activity.
In the letter, Vijay told his cadres that despite attempts by “schemers and manipulators” to belittle and defame the party, the people of Tamil Nadu have stood firmly by them. He said, “It is time to raise our voice for the people of our motherland, Tamil Nadu,” adding that the party’s journey could not be stopped as long as the people’s support remained strong.
Vijay urged members to take the next steps with “care, calculation, and clarity,” and called upon them to gather in unity at the special meeting to plan decisively for the future.
