During the 6th Bogum Ao Foundation Day, Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Minister Pema Khandu rallied the community around the ambitious vision of 'Viksit Bharat@2047' and 'Viksit Arunachal', emphasizing that true progress requires a united journey beyond mere infrastructure. He commended the foundation's impactful initiatives in youth career guidance and tackling pressing social challenges.
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu has said the slogans of Viksit Bharat@2047 and Viksit Arunachal are achievable targets and not just wild dreams.Speaking at the 6th Bogum Ao Foundation Day at Gogar in Likabali in Lower Siang district on Saturday, Khandu said the pre-requisite is the joint effort by all stakeholders in striving for it in the right earnest.Khandu said the theme of development is not limited to infrastructure alone, it is designed for an overall societal development as well. The govt of the day has a clear-cut roadmap set to convert rich resources into revenue to achieve it, he said.The CM congratulated the organisers for sustaining the spirit of Ato Bogum afresh even after many decades and wished them success in their future endeavours in continuing his legacy and work for the betterment of society.
Khandu praised the philanthropic initiatives of the foundation, including career counseling initiatives for youth to pursue academics as well as entrepreneurship, thereby bringing in desired social change.
“The Ato Bogum Foundation should be the trailblazers for the whole society in addressing social issues like drug menace, HIV, student dropout, including handholding women for ensuring women empowerment and protecting the cultural heritages of the tribal,” he added.
Earlier, the CM unveiled the Bogum Lwwnv — the statue of Ato Bogum, the descendant of Abo Tani at Likabali.Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Kardo Nyigyor urged the Bogum Ao Foundation to lead efforts in fostering unity among the youth and nurturing a stronger ‘One Arunachal’ mindset.Nyigyor, who represents the Likabali assembly constituency, appealed to the organisers to extend their initiatives to remote corners of the state. He emphasised the importance of education, raising awareness on drug abuse and addressing ecology and environmental issues among the people.
