Vincent Kompany Extends Bayern Munich Stint; Signs New Contract To Stay Till 2029

Kompany extends Bayern Munich contract to 2029 after reclaiming the Bundesliga title last season, and leading with 11 wins in 11 games across all competitions currently.

Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich adventure is far from over.

The Belgian coach has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the Allianz Arena until 2029, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

“It feels like I’ve been here much longer and that I know the club well," Kompany said in an official statement.

“It’s been a great experience so far. We’ve started a wonderful journey — let’s keep working hard and celebrate much more success!"

Kompany, who wasn’t Bayern’s first choice when he arrived in the summer of 2024, has more than justified the gamble.

In his debut season, the former Manchester City captain wrestled the Bundesliga title back from Bayer Leverkusen, re-establishing Bayern’s dominance.

Now, the 39-year-old has his side flying high with 11 wins in 11 games across all competitions, leading both the Bundesliga and the Champions League group stage.
