Vinicius Jr’s El Clásico meltdown went viral, now he’s trying to make amends.

The Real Madrid star has publicly apologized after fuming over his substitution against Barcelona on Sunday, admitting that “passion got the better of me."

The Brazilian forward, who was taken off by head coach Xabi Alonso with 20 minutes left in Madrid’s 2-1 victory, didn’t take the decision well.

Cameras caught him visibly stunned, repeatedly asking, “Me? Me? Gaffer, gaffer! Me?" as he walked off the pitch.

Moments later, an even more frustrated Vini stormed down the tunnel, shouting, “It’s always me, I’m leaving the team. I’m leaving, I’d better leave."

He eventually cooled off and returned to the bench for the closing minutes, but the damage was already done.

Two days later, Vinicius took to X to issue an apology. While he didn’t mention Alonso by name, his message struck a remorseful tone:

Hoy quiero pedir disculpas a todos los madridistas por mi reacción al ser sustituido en el Clásico.Así como ya lo he hecho en persona durante el entrenamiento de hoy, también quiero pedir disculpas nuevamente a mis compañeros, club y presidente.

A veces la pasión me gana por…

“Today I want to apologize to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clásico," Vinicius wrote on X.

“Just as I have already done in person during training, I also want to apologize again to my teammates, the club, and the president.

“Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents," he added.

He ended by promising to “keep fighting every second for Real Madrid," a nod to his commitment amid growing speculation about his long-term future in Spain.

Reports in Spain suggest tension between Vinicius and the club hierarchy has been brewing, though insiders insist a transfer is unlikely, at least for now.

Since joining Madrid, Vinicius has been a key figure, scoring 111 goals in 316 games, including winners in both the 2022 and 2024 Champions League finals.
