While responding to the assault of a shopkeeper by workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that Marathi should be respected without resorting to violence.

The Chief Minister assured that strict actions will be taken against the culprits, emphasising that violence won’t be tolerated.

“We respect Marathi, but violence in its name won’t be accepted. Strict action will be taken against those resorting to violence. No language in India will be allowed to be disrespected," he said.
