Viral: Trump compliments Zelensky’s “very stylish” jacket at White House meeting, watch video

US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have had a rocky relationship to say the least. Every time the two powerful men meet, all the eyes are on them not only because of global politics but also because of the pull and push camaraderie they share.From asking Zelenskyy to leave the Oval Office to appreciating his choice of outfit, Trump's thoughts on the Ukrainian President have come a long way and it seems people are more than happy to see the two influential political figures bonding.

On Friday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived for his meeting with Donald Trump in an all-black military style suit, which led to him being complimented by the American president. The two met in Washington to discuss the war in Ukraine and Kyiv's "needs" of Tomahawks from the US.The video of the Republican leader complimenting the Ukrainian leader is going viral on social media, with people rooting for this changing relationship.In the presence of reporters inside the White House during their meeting, Trump said, "I think he looks beautiful in his jacket."To which Zelenskyy asked, "Yeah?""I hope people notice it. It's actually very stylish, I like it," Trump added.The interaction between the two global leaders drew smiles and cheery laughs from the others present at the meeting, including a smile from the American Vice President JD Vance, who himself had previously argued with Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy's unique outfit saga

What's interesting about the event along with the positive interaction is the fact that the suit Zelenskyy donned was the same one from his previous meeting with Trump. Later, when a reporter asked the Ukrainian President about his choice of wardrobe, he said, "Sane suit because the same president, it's very simple. Next president will have another suit."Why so? Well, earlier in August, Zelenskyy had arrived at the White House in combat gear which included a military-style green tee and pants.

He was mocked by a reporter who asked him, "Why don’t you wear a suit? Do you own a suit? A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the dignity of this office.”Thus, the next time he returned to the White House in August, he donned a black suit which led to Trump noting how he was "all dressed up." A White House reporter complimented the Ukrainian leader then, saying, "President Zelensky, you look fabulous in that suit." Trump quickly interjected and said, "I said the same thing."It seems that with Ukraine wanting America's help, Zelenskyy wanted to continue the streak of impressing Trump and being in his corner.
