While filming at a Houston eatery, an SUV suddenly plowed through the restaurant's glass wall and smashed into their table. The shocking footage, captured mid-bite of a slider, quickly went viral, shaking viewers and sparking concern. Miraculously, both influencers walked away with injuries, but the incident serves as a sharp reminder that life can veer off track in a blink.
What happened?
In a moment that shifted from a fun food review to sheer chaos, Houston-based food influencers Nina Santiago (NinaUnrated) and Patrick Blackwood were filming a meal at CuVee Culinary Creations when an SUV loudly crashed through the restaurant’s glass wall beside them. The terrifying event, captured on camera, has since gone viral. In the video, Nina and Patrick are mid-bite, savoring a slider, when suddenly, shards of glass explode inward, and their table is knocked askew.
Nina falls to the floor as Patrick reacts instantly, trying to shield her. Witnesses in the background are stunned, and chaos follows. Both vloggers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, including cuts and bruises. Patrick suffered a gash across his face and multiple wounds; Nina also sustained facial and wrist injuries. Despite the shock, both were treated, released, and are recovering.
The aftermath
On social media, the food vlogger duo expressed gratitude for surviving a moment that turned dangerous in an instant.
Nina wrote about how it “hit us directly… out of nowhere,” calling it a wake-up call and urging followers to forgive, cherish loved ones, and live fully, because “tomorrow is not promised.” Patrick, too, echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “Grateful to see another day… live bold, love deep, and make every moment count,” as reported by E! Online.Meanwhile, the restaurant’s owner, who was nearby at the time, confirmed the clip is genuine.
The driver of the vehicle was unharmed and determined not to have been impaired, calling it a freak accident. However, the owner noted the driver would be held responsible for damages.Although there hasn’t been any serious consequence or any loss of lives, the incident highlights a serious issue: restaurants with glass fronts or window-side seating can be vulnerable. Many are now calling for safety features like bollards or reinforced design in such public spaces. The video is also a striking example of how quickly life can change and how important it is to pause, reflect, and live intentionally.
