MLC Perabathula Rajasekhar said the establishment of the Google data centre in Visakhapatnam, along with the commitment of substantial investments by a range of multinational companies across diverse sectors in Andhra Pradesh, was a testament to the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh. The coalition government was striving to create 20 lakh jobs, and the results of its efforts were already visible, he observed.
Addressing media persons at the TDP central office near Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Monday, Mr. Rajasekhar said the government had completed 16 months in power and was moving forward with a fine balance between development and welfare. Investments amounting to lakhs of crores of rupees were pouring in due to the strong brand image that Mr. Naidu had cultivated over the years—dating back to the days when he conceived and gave tangible shape to Hi-Tec City, which played a catalytic role in transforming Hyderabad into a global metropolis.
The Google data centre, being set up with an investment of ₹87,500 crore, was a major achievement. More investments were in the pipeline, reflecting the trust entrepreneurs placed in Mr. Naidu, he noted.
Mr. Rajasekhar also pointed out that Mr. Lokesh had launched the Skill Census in his constituency, Mangalagiri, to enhance the skills of youth across the State and provide them with employment opportunities. In contrast, youth were forced to migrate to other cities in search of jobs during the YSRCP rule. In just 16 months of the TDP-Jana Sena Party-BJP alliance coming to power, about six lakh jobs had been created, he added.
