'Vishwambhara': Chiranjeevi shares update on the socio-fantasy film - Deets inside

It's been a while since the makers of 'Vishwambhara' gave fans an official update, but today on August 21, Megastar Chiranjeevi himself stepped forward with a video message. In the video, the actor shared an update regarding the socio-fantasy drama.In the video, the veteran actor shared that a special glimpse of the film will be unveiled on August 21 at 6.06 pm, as part of his birthday celebrations, which he celebrates tomorrow on August 22.

The update has been eagerly awaited by the fans on the project since the first teaser was dropped back in October of last year. The first teaser had a lot of buzz, but there was criticism about the visual effects in the teaser, which led the creators to re-examine, revisit and rework some important aspects of the movie.

Makers eye for best possible VFX for Chiranjeevi's film

Addressing the delay, Chiranjeevi explained that the second half of Vishwambhara relies heavily on VFX and graphics. "The team is going beyond their limits to ensure that the audience gets the best visual spectacle possible," (loosely translated in English) he shared in Telugu. To achieve this, the makers have reportedly brought in international artists to elevate the film's post-production quality.The 'Godfather' actor also offered a small insight into the film's narrative.

According to him, 'Vishwambhara' is designed to appeal to audiences across age groups, with children enjoying the fantasy elements while adults are taken back to their childhood memories of chandamama kathalu.Directed by 'Bimbisara' filmmaker Vassishta Mallidi, 'Vishwambhara' stars Trisha, Aashika Ranganath, Kunal Kapoor, Ramya Pasupaleti, Esha Chawla, and Ashrita Vemuganti Nanduri. Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani is creating the music.

Release timeline of 'Vishwambhara'

The film is said to be locked for a summer 2026 release. While the exact date is not yet known, it is said that the team is aiming for an April release window.Meanwhile, his other project, tentatively titled 'MEGA157', which began shooting in May 2025, is expected to hit theatres earlier, during Sankranthi 2026.
