Congress leader Rahul Gandhi labelled the Supreme Court’s order to shift Delhi-NCR stray dogs from the streets to shelters as a “step back from science-backed policy" and said that their removals are “cruel and shortsighted".
“The SC’s directive to remove all stray dogs from Delhi-NCR is a step back from decades of humane, science-backed policy. These voiceless souls are not “problems" to be erased. We can ensure public safety and animal welfare go hand in hand," Rahul Gandhi posted on X.

Several leaders from various political parties have expressed their opinions on the top court’s order.
