‘Walk of Hope’ on Sunday to create awareness on breast cancer

World Breast Cancer Awareness Day will be observed in the city with a ‘Walk of Hope’ on Manaveeyam Veedhi at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Asraya, a women’s voluntary organisation that has been working at the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) for the past 30 years to provide support to cancer patients and their families, will organise the event.

The programme will be formally inaugurated by Paul Augustine, head of the Department of Surgical Oncology at RCC.

The ‘Walk of Hope’ will be flagged off by Kusumakumari, former additional director, RCC. Reji Jose, professor of community medicine, will speak.

Volunteers, survival support group members of Asraya led by its president Santha Jose, and the public will attend the event.
