Wanted criminal carrying Rs 50k bounty gunned down in Chatra

Hazaribag: A police team from Hazaribag gunned down Uttam Yadav, a wanted criminal who carried a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, at Bagra village under Simaria police station limits in Chatra district on Saturday evening.

In his thirties, Yadav, who was behind the loot of jewellery store in Hazaribag on June 22, was on a bike. “When intercepted, he opened fire from a pistol. The police team returned fire. Yadav sustained injuries in his chest and thighs and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival,” Hazaribag SP Anjani Anjan said. According to police officials, Yadav suffered injuries and when the police took him to a hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival. Yadav recently released a video threatening coal traders and businessmen in Chatra and Hazaribag districts for extortion money.
