Paresh Rawal recalls losing control on stage

The ‘Sanju’ actor revealed that during a performance of his play ‘Pratishodh,’ he suddenly snapped at a member of the audience who wouldn’t stop making inappropriate remarks. In a chat with Raj Shamani on his podcast, recalling the moment, he said, “I couldn’t stop myself. I just went in the direction of where the sound was coming from. Somebody was making continuous, vulgar comments. There was a lot of furor over that incident.

Obviously, the play got shut down that day. The theater owners also said they wouldn’t let Paresh come back and perform there.”The ‘Welcome’ actor admitted that he only hit the man a few times before returning to the stage. “They got even more riled up that he struck and went back on stage. Paresh Rawal admits regretting violent outburst

However, Rawal confessed that there was one time he truly regretted losing control, when he hit someone on the head with a stone. He said, “I repented it a lot. Later, I went to his place, and then we became friends.

Not good friends, but we became friends.”

What is the real cause of anger?

Rawal reflected on where his anger stems from. He said, “Hurt has different reactions—either I become submissive, morose, or aggressive. But the basic emotion is hurt.” The actor believes that anger is often a reaction to emotional pain, and people express it differently—some by withdrawing, others by lashing out.The actor also revealed that his father had a short temper, though he admitted his own anger tends to be “more violent.”

He feels that people today get angry much faster than before. “Anger also happens when you don’t get something. It’s also there because of uncertainty. When will things get right? Thirdly, you want to assert yourself and prove a point that I’m also something. There’s a fashion of getting hurt and angry.

They feel it’s a privilege, and they want to encash that. Some people may be having a reason also,” he said.
