Jaylen Brown might be losing more than just games to start the new season: he’s losing his hairline too, and he’s making sure the world laughs with him, not at him.

The Boston Celtics star has had a rough few weeks. His team’s gone 1–3, Jayson Tatum’s injured, and most of last season’s championship roster has vanished.

But when a clip of Brown’s “painted-on" hairline rubbing off on OG Anunoby went viral, the internet forgot about basketball entirely.

Memes flooded X (formerly Twitter) within hours.

Fans compared Brown’s fade to LeBron James’ infamous mid-game vanishing act, the one where the “hairline plays better defense than the Lakers."

But instead of hiding from the jokes, Brown went full comedy mode.

On Tuesday night, he fired up Instagram Live and told fans he was “going bald" — calling it a “Code Red emergency."

Then came the highlight of the night: Brown actually tried calling LeBron James for advice.

When The King didn’t answer, Brown dropped one of the funniest voicemails in NBA history:

“Code red… they caught me slipping. I need to know — Turkey or no Turkey — and I ain’t talking about no cheese sandwich. This some real s*** bro, call your lil bro back."

(“Turkey," of course, being the hotspot for NBA hair transplants.)

The clip instantly blew up. Fans crowned Brown the new “Self-Awareness MVP," while others joked that LeBron was dodging the call like a double team.

LeBron, of course, has been the long-running meme king of NBA hairline talk. But Brown’s self-aware, good-humored approach has earned him applause, and maybe even a few new fans.

Sure, Boston’s 1–3 and Brown’s got bigger things to worry about than his barber.

Aside from his team’s dismal start, the former Finals MVP has played well so far as an individual to start the season, averaging 26.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
