The Axiom-4 mission carrying India’s Shubhanshu Shukla and three others to the International Space Station is set to launch today. The weather is 90 per cent favourable for the launch, SpaceX said early Wednesday.

Carrying India’s Shubhanshu Shukla and three other astronauts, the mission is scheduled to take off from Kennedy Space Centre’s Complex 39A at around noon. After a 28-hour journey, the spacecraft is expected to dock with the International Space Station (ISS) at around 4:30 pm (IST) Thursday. The astronauts are slated to spend around 14 days on the ISS.

Piloted by Shukla, the mission marks a significant milestone, fulfilling the commitment made by US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to send an ISRO astronaut to the station.
