India vice captain Rishabh Pant brought up his now trademark celebration after completing his 7th Test century against England on day 2 of the 1st Test at Leeds on Saturday. This was not the first time that Pant had pulled off this acrobatic celebration with the Lucknow Super Giants captain celebrating in the same way when he slammed a 100 in the IPL against Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier this year.

On Saturday against England too, Pant celebrated with the somersault after bringing up his ton in 146 deliveries with the help of 10 boundaries and 4 sixes. This was also Pant’s 3rd Test century in English soil.

The celebration will also put smiles on cricket lovers’ faces who had waited for this day since his return to cricket after suffering a horrific road accident in December 2022.

Pant had suffered multiple injuries when his car collided with a road divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. The player, who was going to his home in Roorkee, was taken to a local hospital before being shifted to Dehradun. He had suffered injuries on his head, back and feet.

Ahead of the England series, Pant had said it was a tough process to make a comeback from the horrific car accident that he suffered in late 2022.

“Coming forward, the last two years have been tough coming back from the (car) accident but at the same time I want to be an individual who is learning each and every day. See for me after my accident just being on the ground and making people believe that I can come back and the kind of love they have shown me, it’s always going to be special for me,” he had said.
