Watch Tiger Woods’ wild reaction to a PGA Tour pro's incredible winning shot at TGL
TGL has witnessed just two hole-in-ones. The first was on February 9, when Neal Shipley, in his debut for The Bay Golf Club, hit a 54-degree wedge from 110 yards into the "Set in Stone" par-3.
Tom Kim delivered the second after twenty-three days, and it turned out to be even more noteworthy.Tiger Woods, co-owner of Jupiter Links and courtside across the match, exploded, leaping, fist-bumping, and high-fiving colleagues in a 13-second clip NUCLR Golf shared on X under the Twitter handle @NUCLRGOLF. By the next morning, the video had received 43.8K views. Kim made a hole-in-one, which came at Hole 14, ‘On the Rocks,’ a 138-yard par-3.
With the hammer in play and Jupiter trailing 5-6, his shot put Jupiter ahead swiftly by one.
The two-point swing was the turning point of the match.
Tiger Woods’ reaction sparks after Jupiter Link wins
The stakes for Jupiter were high. Just two days before that, they had lost to Boston Common Golf 7-6 in overtime, and Woods was clearly unhappy. Despite being hindered by injury, Woods attended every match in Season 2. The match against The Bay was a needed win for Jupiter Links.
Now, they will be heading to the playoffs as the No. 4 seed and will take on the top-seeded Boston Common Golf Club.
In a post-match interview, Tom Kim was questioned about what it was like to cause Tiger Woods to react that way.“You probably never see Tiger celebrate that much for another person having a hole-in-one. But I think everyone needs to understand my hole-in-one doesn’t happen if Max doesn’t birdie the previous hole.
The game is such a team effort.”Kim also admitted that the pressure of his ace transferred directly onto Kisner’s shoulders for the final hole: “I was just so glad I didn’t have to hit anymore because there was a lot of pressure on Kis to finish the match.”Kisner stated, “I wasn’t feeling it at all; don’t worry about it.”“I could tell,” Kim said.Jupiter Links won 9-6 as Kevin Kisner's 13-foot putt closed out the match. For a team that went 1-4-0 last season and missed the playoffs, this marks their first-ever journey to the postseason. In TGL’s first season, Tom Kim led the league in putting and was the only player ranked in the top five for both short game and long game efficiency.
