Water supply workers go on strike in Haveri seeking salaries

Some water supply workers of Haveri Municipal Council staged a protest on Thursday against the delay in the release of their salaries. The outsourced water supply workers gathered in protest in front of the municipal council demanding regular salaries.

They displayed poison bottles and threatened to drink poison if their salaries are not released immediately. They said that the civic body has not paid their salaries for nearly four months.

However, senior officers like the municipal commissioner and others tried to convince them to withdraw their protest.
