Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna lauded the Sports Ministry’s efforts to streamline the nation’s sporting ideals under the newly introduced Khelo Sporting Niti 2025 that seeks to address a multitude of issues pertaining to the sporting ecosystem of the nation.
Bopanna took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to express his admiration for the idea and termed it as a watershed moment for Indian sports.

“I truly believe the Khelo Bharat Niti 2025 marks a watershed moment for Indian sports," the 45-year-old said.
“Its athlete first approach & focus on excellence will inspire generations to dream bigger," he added.
“Thank you Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji for this visionary step.#KheloBharatNiti," the post read.

Bopanna, who became the oldest first-time World No.1 in 2024 following his maiden Grand Slam doubles title at the Australian Open alongside Matthew Ebden, will look to give a solid account of himself at the ongoign edition of the prestigious Wimbledon as he begins his grass court major thrust, alongside Sander Gille, as the Indo-Belgian pair take on the German duo of Tim Putz and Kevin Krawietz on Wednesday.
