Handloom weavers led by Kakinada City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao took out a rally on Monday with a 100-feet-long saree signed by participants, celebrating the NDA alliance policies for the textile sector.

Addressing the weavers and party supporters at Bhanugudi Centre, Mr. Venkateswara Rao said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has committed to reimbursing 5% GST on handloom products apart from offering annual aid of ₹25,000 to the weaver families under ‘Nethanna Bharosa’ scheme.

The rally witnessed the participation of weavers from the Kakinada City assembly constituency, All India Weavers Federation National executive member Pappu Durga Ramesh, and Kakinada City Weavers Welfare Association president V. Venkata Subba Rao. They all hailed the recent policies of the NDA alliance for the weavers and textile sector in Andhra Pradesh.

The participants signed the 100-feet-long saree woven by local weavers before walking with it across the city.
