West Bengal shocker: Man walking around with sister-in-law's severed head arrested

NEW DELHI: A man was arrested on Saturday in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal after he was discovered walking around carrying the severed head of his sister-in-law, according to police reports.

A senior police official confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody in the Basanti area's Bharatgarh locality on suspicion of murdering his sister-in-law. The police were notified by local residents who spotted the man wandering in the area whilst carrying the decapitated head of his sister-in-law. "Initial probe revealed that the accused had engaged in a scuffle with the woman, who is his sister-in-law, last night. He beheaded the woman with a sickle-like object. We are probing the incident. A forensic team is visiting the place where the crime took place," the police officer said. The official stated that the woman's body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and authorities have confiscated the weapon from the accused.
