The District Task Force on Child Labour has launched an intensified month-long special drive to identify and rehabilitate child labourers across the West Godavari district. The task force comprises officials from the Departments of Labour, Women and Child Welfare, Revenue, Social Welfare, Police, Medical, and Health.

West Godavari District Collector Ch. Nagarani said: “This month-long special drive to identify child labourers will end on June 30. The rescued children will be rehabilitated by enrolling them in the schools.”

As part of the initiative, the task force will inspect public places, work sites, and hotels to identify instances of child labour. Ms. Nagarani highlighted that the school dropout rate remains high among the students of upper primary classes.

Joint Collector T. Rahul Kumar Reddy, District Labour Officer A. Lakshmi, District Women and Child Welfare Officer B. Sujatha Rani, and other officials are part of the task force team.
