West Godavari District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi was awarded the ‘Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak’ medal for the Undi case in the ‘Investigation Category’ announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on October 31. The medal instituted in 2024 recognises high professional standards and outstanding work.
The award recognises Mr. Asmi’s role in the Undi case, where on December 19, 2024, Mudunuri Tulasi received a wooden parcel containing the body of Barre Parlayya. The accused— a couple, Ms. Revathi and Mr. Sridhar Varma reportedly strangled their worker, Mr. Parlayya to death, and sent the body to Ms. Tulasi, who is the sister of Ms. Revathi, to threaten her and demand money over a family property dispute under Undi police limits in West Godavari district.
West Godavari District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani along with other officials congratulated Mr. Nayeem Asmi.
