Following the Cleveland Browns’ preseason game on August 9, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio, Shedeur Sanders walked up to Tony Grossi, a prominent Cleveland sports writer and radio personality and said, "I just want to know why you've been so hard on me all summer?"Shedeur Sanders said, “Tony, I be hoping you have something positive to say about me. You only say negative stuff about me. And I’m like, ‘I ain’t do nothing to you.’”
According to footage shared by Deion Sanders Jr.’s Well Off Media, the conversation was serious but not angry. Grossi later praised Sanders’ performance, calling it “outstanding.”Shedeur Sanders finished the game with 14 completions out of 23 passes, 138 yards, and two touchdowns. His play helped the Browns beat the Panthers 30-10 in the preseason opener.

Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL star Deion Sanders, started the game because of injuries on the Browns’ quarterback list. Despite being drafted late in April 2025, Sanders showed great skill and calmness in his first NFL action.Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said Shedeur Sanders played well but did not confirm if he will start more games soon.
Famous basketball player LeBron James also noticed Shedeur Sanders’ performance. LeBron James wrote on social media, “That young (man) looking good out there. Keep going UP!!!
