It's a perfect little time capsule, showing a shy, budding star, Shah Rukh Khan, a beloved legend, Dharmendra, and the radiant Divya Bharti, all in one frame.
A shy newcomer and a rising star
This viral video, popping up 32 years later, by a fan page of Shah Rukh Khan on Instagram, really shows what the industry was like back then. The clip comes from the music launch of the film 'Dil Aashna Hai', which was
Hema Malini
's directorial debut. The main focus of the video was the film's lead actress, Divya Bharti, who was quickly becoming a massive star.
She looked stunning as she made her entrance in a vibrant purple suit, with all the cameras flashing just for her. Also on stage were the icons Dharmendra and Hema Malini, who were directing the film. And over on the side? A young Shah Rukh Khan, looking a bit shy in his formal suit, long before he became the 'King of Bollywood'.
Divya Bharti's show of respect
One of the most talked-about moments from the clip is Divya Bharti's traditional gesture of respect.
As she approached the stage, she instinctively bent down to touch Dharmendra's feet, who blessed her in return. She then moved to stand beside Hema Malini. This simple act of humility has earned praise from fans today. Throughout this, Shah Rukh Khan stood respectfully next to Dharmendra, stepping aside to ensure Divya remained in the spotlight, a clear sign of his respect for his co-star.See the video here:
