According to social media reports, the couple’s exchange was so audible that it briefly quieted the entire venue, prompting speculation about the state of their marriage.

Some users noted the casual attire of the Vice President, questioning why he appeared in a simple T-shirt.

JD Vance addressed the viral moment himself, reposting about the argument on X with tongue-in-cheek humour.

“I always wear an undershirt when I go out in public to have a fight loudly with my wife," he wrote.

His post quickly went viral, with thousands of users commenting and sharing.

The incident is the latest in a string of public and online attention surrounding the Vice President and the Second Lady.

Earlier this month, CNN reported that the couple had attracted speculation following photos of Usha Vance without her wedding ring during a visit to a military base with First Lady Melania Trump.

That appearance was widely discussed online, with many questioning the dynamics of their marriage.

In an interview with NBC News, Vance said the couple largely finds the speculation amusing.

“I think that we kind of get a kick out of it," he said.

When asked if he found tabloid-style attention frustrating, he added, “With anything in life, you take the good with the bad."

The Vice President also addressed previous remarks about his wife’s faith, which had sparked discussion online.

He clarified that while he hopes Usha may one day be “moved by the Christian gospel," she has no intention of converting.

“Regardless, I’ll continue to love and support her and talk to her about faith and life and everything else, because she’s my wife," he wrote on social media in October.

Vance described their marriage as strong despite public scrutiny.

“It’s as strong as it’s ever been," he told NBC News.

He praised Usha Vance’s adaptation to her role as Second Lady, saying, “I think Usha’s really taken to it, and it’s been kind of cool to see how she’s developed and evolved in this new role."

The couple, who met while students at Yale University, have three young children. Usha Vance stepped away from a promising legal career to embrace the ceremonial responsibilities of her new role while maintaining a relatively private life.
