When Rajinikanth’s emotional logic stuned Sundar C; Duo reunite after decades for ‘Thalaivar 173’

While discussing an important scene in the film, Rajinikanth suggested a small correction.

Rajinikanth’s simple advice on emotion over logic

Speaking in a chat with Cinema Express during the promotions of 'Gangsters', Sundar C said that in a scene in 'Arunachalam', Rajinikanth's character was told by a five-star hotel manager to be thrown out of his room in the middle of the night. But he himself objected to that, he said. “Even the manager of a Rs. 100 Udupi lodge would not say something like this, it is not logically correct,” Sundar C said.

To this, Rajinikanth said, “No one sees logic in the film.

Emotion is what matters. If anyone asks for logic in that scene, I admit defeat," he replied.

Sundar C admits that Rajinikanth’s words gave him confidence

Sundar C had said that that one sentence changed his perspective and his style of directing. “That one line that Rajini sir said gave me hope. When people connect with the emotion, I learned that the film would be a success,” he had said. He also revealed that he later used that experience in the 'Aranmanai' series of horror films.
