When Sushmita Sen praised 'Main Hoon Na' co-star Shah Rukh Khan, quipped “He can romance even a pillar”

Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most loved stars in Bollywood and also a heartthrob of many fans all over the world. People who meet him often speak about his gentle nature. His co-stars also can’t help but admire his personal charm and on-screen charisma which earned him the title of the ‘King of Romance’.Like many actresses, Sushmita Sen also got to witness Khan's on-screen magic when they worked together on the film 'Main Hoon Na'. Opening up about their time together on the sets, she once shared how magical it was to shoot with him and joked that Shah Rukh is so good at romance, that he could even romance a pillar and make it look convincing. She said, “SRK had once said that he can romance pillars and that is true. Some of the most magical moments in Main Hoon Na were not scripted, SRK made them come to life, the actress added.

"In a 2020 interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sushmita looked back on her time on the 'Main Hoon Na' sets. She shared that SRK wasn’t just a great co-star, but also a genuinely caring person. He always made sure his female co-stars felt comfortable and looked after. His respectful and thoughtful nature created a warm and friendly atmosphere, making the shoot feel magical for everyone involved.Sushmita gushed, "He is one of my most loved co-stars, I am a big fan of SRK too, she added."

On the work front, the superstar is all set to return to the big screen with his upcoming film 'King'. What makes this project even more special is that he will be sharing the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan, for the first time.The film also features a powerhouse ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, and Saurabh Shukla in important roles.Directed by Siddharth Anand, 'King' is expected to hit theatres sometime in the last quarter of 2026, between October and December.
