Jasbir Singh Arrested: Jasbir Singh is the second content creator held in the investigation in which Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was arrested earlier.

Jasbir Singh, a YouTuber with over 1.1 million subscribers on his channel “Jaan Mahal", has been arrested by the Punjab Police’s State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Mohali, for his alleged involvement in a Pakistan-backed espionage network.

Jasbir Singh’s arrest follows intelligence inputs linking him to suspected operatives of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He is the second content creator held in recent weeks in the investigation in which Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was arrested earlier.

Jasbir Singh’s Suspected Links to Pakistani Intelligence Operatives

Jasbir Singh, a resident of Mahlan village in Rupnagar district, had been maintaining covert ties with Pakistani intelligence operatives while building a public profile as a content creator. He was allegedly in close contact with Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, a Pakistani intelligence officer of Indian origin, believed to have direct links to the ISI, police said.

Jasbir Singh also had ongoing communication with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a former official at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi who was previously expelled from India for espionage, police said.

Authorities said that Jasbir Singh traveled to Pakistan in 2020, 2021, and 2024 and attended a Pakistan National Day event at the Pakistani Embassy in Delhi.

Attempted Cover-Up By Jasbir Singh

Following the arrest of Jyoti Malhotra, Jasbir Singh is believed to have attempted to erase traces of his links with ISI handlers. However, forensic examination of his digital devices uncovered communication with several Pakistani phone numbers.

In a post on social media platform X, Punjab Police said, “Jasbir Singh, who operates a YouTube channel called ‘Jaan Mahal’, has been found associated with PIO Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, part of a terror-backed espionage network. He also maintained close contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra (arrested for spying) and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national and expelled Pak High Commission official."

“Investigations are underway to dismantle the broader espionage-terror network and identify all collaborators," the police further said.

Punjab Police have arrested at least seven individuals in the case so far, including Falaksher Masih and Suraj Masih from Amritsar, Guzala and Yameen Mohamad from Malerkotla, and Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh from Gurdaspur.
