Socialite Suhel Seth announced Kapur’s death on X, saying, “Deeply saddened at the passing of Sunjay Kapur: he passed away earlier today in England: a terrible loss and deepest condolences to his family and to his colleagues.

” A few hours earlier, Kapur's last post on social media had expressed grief over the Ahmedabad air crash. "Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected.
