Why Ketan Agarwal Didn't Suspect Siya Goyal After Her First Murder Attempt. Reason: A Snake Excuse

Ketan was allegedly pushed to his death from Lohagad Fort on June 18 by Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary.

The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has revealed that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, had allegedly made a first attempt on his life four days before his death. That raises an obvious question: why did Ketan not suspect her?

Ketan was allegedly pushed to his death from Lohagad Fort on June 18 by Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary. Initially, Siya claimed that Ketan had accidentally slipped while taking photographs. However, police later said it was a well-planned conspiracy and arrested both Siya and Chetan.

Investigators have now said that a similar attempt had allegedly been made on June 14, but it failed.

According to Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, Siya allegedly pushed Ketan near the edge of a cliff, but he managed to save himself by grabbing a nearby tree and avoiding a fatal fall.

Ketan, however, did not suspect any foul play after Siya allegedly told him that she had pushed him to save him from a snake.

“On June 14, when they went to the fort, she pushed him due to which Ketan saved himself by holding a tree. When Ketan survived, Siya claimed there was a snake and that’s why she pushed him," Vishal Agarwal said.

According to police, Siya had first visited Lohagad Fort with Ketan on May 31. Investigators believe that it was during that trip that she may have conceived the idea of killing him and passing it off as an accident.

Police have alleged that Siya and Chetan eventually executed the plan during another visit to the fort on June 18. Both have been arrested and remanded to police custody till June 29.

Siya and Ketan got engaged in February this year and their wedding was scheduled for November in Rajasthan.

Their plan for a pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali was cancelled after Siya allegedly stole Ketan’s passport.

“They (Siya Goyal and Ketan Agarwal) got engaged in February…They were leaving for Bali on June 6, four people were travelling to Bali together, but only Ketan’s passport got stolen. Because of that, he couldn’t go and had to return from the airport," he said.
