He’s usually the one terrifying Premier League defences, but this time Erling Haaland decided to take his fright skills off the pitch.

The Manchester City striker swapped his boots for a purple suit and green hair on Friday, completing a full transformation into the Joker to prank unsuspecting fans around Manchester.

The Norwegian star, who’s currently the Premier League’s top scorer with 11 goals in nine games, gave the residents of Manchester a scare as he went undercover for Halloween.

In a new video on his YouTube channel titled “I went undercover as The Joker in the streets of Manchester," Haaland documented the entire transformation from his home, with his girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen by his side.

Now a proud new dad, Haaland joked about his look before the makeover began.

“I’ve never done fancy dress in my life," he said, grinning as stylists applied white paint and the Joker’s iconic red smile.

When he finally saw the result, his reaction was pure Haaland: “Nah, that looks sick."

With his chaotic new look complete, he announced, “Let’s have fun while buying some diapers, let’s go," and headed out in full Joker gear.

He kicked a ball around outside (“The Joker can play football as well!"), then hit a petrol station with just £3 in his pocket, joking in a Mancunian accent that it was “enough for chocolate."

One bystander admired his outfit before realizing who was underneath the makeup. “Are you the Man City boy?" they asked. “Easy as that! How did you know?" Haaland laughed, only to be told his 6ft 5in frame gave him away.

After a day of antics, Haaland wrapped things up by posing with Isabel, who later shared a photo on Instagram captioned: “His favourite villain."

The striker now has two videos on his fast-growing YouTube channel — nearly 650,000 subscribers strong.
