Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of regime change in Iran after strikes on its nuclear sites, contradicting his defense secretary's earlier denial of such intentions.

Donald Trump, after a surprise attack on three of Iran’s nuclear sites, on Monday indicated a willingness for the possibility of a regime change in Iran.
“It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change’, but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change???" Trump posted on social media," Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.
The US President’s post was being seen as a reversal from Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth’s Sunday morning news conference that detailed the aerial bombing.
“This mission was not and has not been about regime change," Hegseth had said.
