Wild elephant tramples man to death near Palakkad in Kerala

A 65-year-old man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Mundur near Palakkad, Kerala, in the early hours of Thursday (June 19, 2025). The deceased has been identified as Kumaran.

The incident took place around 3.30 a.m. when Kumaran stepped out of his house.

Local people later expressed their anger at the incident, alleging that it was the failure of the Forest department that led to the death.

They prevented the forest staff from removing the body.
