As the New York Yankees get ready for their game against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight, we watch where Aaron Judge will end up in the starting lineup as soon as the news drops. Judge returns to the right field in this game for the first time since June.
In 2023, he suffered a major toe injury at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers have since placed additional padding over the section of wall where Judge was injured, in hopes of avoiding such injuries in the future.
Aaron Judge's return to right field for Yankees
This match will be a recap of the 1981 and 2008 World Series, and the Yankees are arriving at 35-20, while the Dodgers are 34-22. The Yankees will counter with Max Fried, who enters the game sporting a 1.29 ERA, which should give Atlanta a significant pitching edge. It's notable that Aaron Judge is back in the right field, where he suffered his injury. He also suffered a torn ligament in his big toe in June 2023 when he made a diving catch and ran into an unpadded part of the right-field wall. He was able to continue at first, but the injury kept him out for almost two months. Also Read: Aaron Judge watched the game from first base and still broke the Angels’ game plan
Lineup adjustments and offensive strategy
Yankees manager Aaron Boone has slid Judge back into the No. 2 hole with Giancarlo Stanton out with an injury.
Not only will that slow his development as a hitter, but it also takes him away from the field where he has been a great asset, compiling a .282, with 173 homers, 381 RBIs.
Cody Bellinger, a recent Yankee signee, is to be placed as Judge's no. 3 partner. In the previous games, Bellinger batted an excellent .465 and 1.301 OPS, and he is there to provide Judge some protection in the lineup.Tonight, as the Yankees take on the Dodgers, fans will get to see how Judge fared both at the plate and in the field, and how the reconfigured lineup looks without the big giant like Stanton.
