With rains subsiding and dry weather expected to prevail, people in Telangana should brace for a drop in temperatures, especially during the night, as winter begins to set in.
Colder from November third week
“No cyclonic systems are approaching Telangana, so only isolated rainfall is expected. The weather is transitioning into winter. It could get colder from the third week of November, with peak winter in December. Temperatures are expected to start dropping from next week,” Mr. Rama Rao said.
Minimum temperatures are likely to fall to 17–20°C from the current 22°C, while maximum temperatures may hover around 29–32°C, down from the current 32–33°C, due to the absence of cloud cover and dry conditions.
Northern Telangana to be colder
Northern Telangana districts — Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Karimnagar — are expected to be colder than other regions, including the Hyderabad capital region, due to topographical differences and the influence of easterly winds. However, the winter is expected to be moderate, with occasional cold spells when westerly winds strengthen, added the senior meteorologist.
