Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt has put in place measures for the smooth conduct of June 21 NEET (UG) re-examination, chief secretary Anu Garg said on Tuesday.Chairing a high-level meeting with officials of various departments and district collectors to review preparations for the examination, Garg said the govt has completed all necessary arrangements and directed district administrations and police authorities to ensure its smooth and orderly conduct.Around 56,983 candidates are scheduled to appear for the examination at 132 centres across 27 towns. She emphasised the need for comprehensive arrangements at all exam centres and stressed the need for strict adherence to protocols to ensure hassle-free conduct of the test.“Adequate security arrangements are being put in place at the exam centres, storage facilities for question papers and along transportation routes.

Everyone entering the examination halls will undergo double frisking,” Garg said. There will be observers from both the National Testing Agency (NTA) and state govt to oversee the examination. NTA had earlier announced that it would deploy independent observers along with state and district officials at exam centres to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures, multi-layered frisking and 100% CCTV coverage.

To facilitate the movement of candidates, the transport department has been directed to provide free bus services from nearby railway stations and bus stands to examination centres and back. The measure is aimed at easing travel-related difficulties for students appearing for the test.As the NEET-UG re-examination coincides with the International Day of Yoga on June 21, the govt has asked all departments and district administrations to make coordinated preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of both events without disruption.
