Woman dies as roof collapses in Gokak

A 54-year-old home-maker Farida Khanwade died when the roof of her house collapsed in Gokak in Belagavi district on Tuesday.

She suffered a head injury and was admitted to a local hospital. But she passed away in a few hours. The house in Sangam Nagar suffered damage due to incessant rain, officials said.

Her 24-year-old son, Riyaz Khanwade, suffered serious injuries. He is under treatment.

A case of unnatural death has been registered.
