Woman, husband arrested in abuse of minor girl

The Aranmula police on Sunday arrested a 47-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man in connection with the sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl. The deceased were identified Latha and Anil Kumar, both natives of Kunnathoor in Kollam. The victim, a class 5 student now, was subject to sexual assault at a rented house from September 2023 to May 2024. Though the accused woman had come to know about the abuse by Anil Kumar, her second husband, she did not reveal that to anyone. The case was lodged on the basis of a complaint by the victim’s mother.
